Q1: What should I do if Client cannot connect to Console? A: Please follow the steps below to check first:
1. Check whether the Client program has been installed, and whether the Client computer has been started.
2. Check whether the IP of Client and Console can ping with each other. If not, please reinstall the TCP/IP protocol of the system.
3. Check whether the channels of Client and Console are the same.
4. If you have installed other similar products, please delete them completely or check if the port numbers are conflicting.
5. Check whether the number of Clients exceeds the authorized number of license registered on Console.
Q2 :Why can't the Client receive the screen during Screen Broadcast? A: Please follow the steps below to check first:
1. EduCaster uses multicast for Screen Broadcast, so please make sure the network is smooth and stable during multicast.
2. Check if the application is blocked by the firewall of other products (EduCaster can only be loaded into the "Windows Firewall" automatically).
Q3: Why can't Client establish a connection with the Internet after the lesson? A: Please follow the steps below to check first:
1. Check if there are any issues with the devices connected to the internet (e.g., routers).
2. Check if the Console is still applying the Internet Control function and forget to cancel it. If so, simply cancel the setting.
Q4: Why can't I send file to Clients successfully? A: Please follow the steps below to check first:
1. Check if there is network congestion during the assignment submission process.
2. Check if the hard drive space on the student's end is sufficient to store the submitted assignments.
3. Verify that the assignment exists on the teacher's end and that the path for storing the assignment is correct.
4. Ensure that there are no open files with the same name in the corresponding folder where the assignment is to be stored on the student's device.
5. Confirm that the student did not log out during the assignment submission process.
Q5: Why can't I use the Remote Wakeup function? A: Please follow the steps below to check:
1. Check if the student's device is equipped with a motherboard and network interface card that support remote boot.
2. Ensure that the student's device has an ATX power supply.
3. Verify in the BIOS power settings menu under "Power Management" that the "Wake up on LAN" option is set to "Enable."
Q6: Why is there no comparison between the last Client resource information and the current Client resource information when using the Asset Management function?
A: First of all, make sure the last Client asset information is saved and the current asset information has changed compared with the saved information.
If there is no change, the comparison information will not be shown.
Q7: Why Console has added an URL to the blacklist of Internet Control function, but Client can still access this URL? A: Please follow the steps below to check first:
1. Make sure you click the "OK" button to save the setting during the setting.
2. Make sure you have selected the URL blacklist.
3. Check if the Client is using another proxy service to log in to this site. If yes, we suggest that the Console use the "Block All" setting to block this URL.
Q8: Why are some applications not restricted/unrestricted after changing the control mode or whitelist/blacklist for internet access?
A: Due to the design problem of some applications, if these applications are running when setting restriction change, you may need to close them and re-run them to make them receive the new restriction.
Ans: Due to the design of certain applications, when setting changes are made, these applications may need to be closed and restarted to accept the new settings if they are currently running. Please close these applications and then restart them to apply the new settings.
Q9: Why can't the functional modules based on multicast transmission, such as file transfer and screen broadcasting, work properly on some computers, while other functions work fine?
A: It might be due to the installation of a network firewall that strictly inspects TCP, causing multicast communication to malfunction. For example, with the firewall product ESS 3.0, when the TCP protocol overload detection option is selected (this option is located
under Personal Firewall Settings -> IDS and Advanced Options -> Intrusion Detection), the multicast communication module cannot work properly. Unchecking this option can restore normal functionality.
Q10: How can we prevent the Client from blocking broadcast signals by changing the allowed applications in the Windows Firewall settings?
A: Add a new Windows user on the Client and configure the permissions so that the Client does not have the administrator’s privilege under that user's environment to make related settings.
Q11: Why doesn’t Client have smooth broadcast performance?
A: Please make sure the network environment is smooth and the network card option has turned off the traffic limit function.
Q12: Why using Remote Control function can get the Client interface, but the keyboard and mouse operation does not respond?
A: This situation is caused by the installation of antivirus software on the Client, you can set the EduCaster’s main program and folder as the whitelist of the antivirus software, restart the computer or the client program, and then execute Remote Control again.
Q13: Remote Command cannot open the specified software, or there is an error message when opening the specified software, how to solve the problem?
A: Please follow the steps below to check first:
1. Please make sure the command entered is correct.
2. Confirm that the information entered for the location of the program is correct, i.e., the program exists under the corresponding path on the student's side, and you can open the program on the student's side.
3. Modify the relevant information, click “Apply”, and then execute it again.
Generally speaking, to open a program, you can directly input the actual path of the program on the student's side in the program location and click Apply. Some commands are different between remote and local; for example, if you want the student to execute "Ping 192.168.1.1" remotely, you need to add "/C" to the input parameter.
Q14 :After disabling USB, students can still use data cable to connect mobile phones and MP3 players to open their files.
Ans: This is because disabling USB or CD-ROM drive disables the "storage device", which disables USB flash drives and other devices that are recognized by the system as storage devices, whereas connecting mobile phones, MP3s and other devices with data cables will be recognized by the system as media devices, which have no restrictions, and therefore can still be used.
